How I became a content designer

My journey in the world of UX writing, content design, and conversation design started in November 2018, when my colleague Anja Wedberg dropped a blue book on her desk right next to me. I immediately noticed the bright color of the book. I picked it up and had a closer look. And I never looked back.

The title of the book was "Microcopy: The Complete Guide", written by Kinneret Yifrah. I browsed through the pages and got introduced to the fascinating world of product writing and how you could improve user experiences with words.

I got to know this beautiful, new discipline that is hybrid in nature. It combines expressing your thoughts in clear and concise writing with high-level, strategic thinking and clear communication to defend the choice of your words. Versatile, surprising, and exciting at every stage!

Ever since, I got pulled down even deeper into the rabbit hole by reading dozens of articles, taking different courses, attending webinars, working on projects, and getting in touch with a community of friendly and generous people who share the same passion.

It's already been such a fun ride, and I still feel that I'm only at the very beginning.
